Apple Foldable iPhone Launch Today: Time In India, Live Stream Details And What To Expect

So this is the night a lot of Apple watchers have been waiting on for years. Tonight’s the “Surprise and Shine” event at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, and going by how thick the leaks have been flying lately, there’s a real chance we finally see Apple’s first folding phone step out on stage. If you’re in India and trying to figure out when to actually tune in and what’s worth staying up for, here’s the rundown.

What Time Should You Be Watching In India

Apple’s keynote kicks off at 10:00 AM Pacific Time, which works out to 10:30 PM tonight if you’re watching from India. Yeah, it’s late. But if you’ve been waiting to see whether Apple actually pulls the trigger on a foldable, staying up an extra hour probably won’t feel like much of a sacrifice.

Where You Can Actually Watch It

Nothing complicated here, Apple’s keeping this one accessible. You can catch the stream on:

  • Apple’s own website, through the events page
  • The Apple TV app if you’ve got an Apple device handy
  • YouTube, on Apple’s official channel, which honestly is probably the easiest route for most people since there’s no app download or sign-in hassle involved

Apple’s already put the event up on YouTube ahead of time, so if you want a nudge before it goes live, setting a reminder there takes about ten seconds.

New Guy Running The Show

Worth mentioning, this isn’t just another routine keynote. It’s the first big iPhone launch under John Ternus, who only stepped into the CEO seat earlier this month. Plenty of people will be watching just as closely to see how he handles the stage as they will be watching the actual products.

Let’s be honest, the foldable is the whole reason tonight matters. Reports have been circling around a name like iPhone Ultra, though iPhone Fold and iPhone Duo have both been thrown around too, and nobody outside Apple seems totally sure which one sticks. Here’s roughly what’s been leaking out about the device itself:

It’s supposed to fold book-style, not unlike what Samsung’s been doing for a while now, unfolding into a tablet-sized inner display that’s rumoured to land somewhere around 7.7 to 7.8 inches. Apple’s apparently poured a lot of engineering time into a titanium hinge meant to deal with the crease problem that basically every foldable phone on the market still struggles with. Under the hood, word is it’ll run on Apple’s newer A20 chip, and the camera setup is expected to be a dual 48-megapixel arrangement on the back, though it sounds like Apple may have skipped a telephoto lens this time.

If even part of that ends up being true, it’s arguably the biggest design swing Apple’s taken since the very first iPhone showed up.

Everything Else That Might Show Up Tonight

The foldable isn’t likely to be flying solo up there. Apple’s also expected to bring out the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, both rumoured to run on a next-gen A20 Pro chip. There’s talk of camera improvements, maybe a variable aperture lens, smaller cutouts up front, and bigger batteries across the board. A new sky blue finish has also come up in a few leaks for the Pro model.

One thing that stands out though, the regular iPhone 18 doesn’t seem to be part of the lineup tonight, which hints Apple might be moving away from dropping every model at once going forward. Beyond phones, there’s been chatter about new Apple Watches and possibly refreshed AirPods too, plus a fair bit of curiosity around what Apple’s actually planning to do about Siri and AI more broadly, especially with how aggressively Google’s been pushing in that direction lately.

What Nobody Knows Yet

Pricing, exact names, colours, availability, none of that’s been confirmed by Apple, especially for how things will play out in India. All of it stays a guessing game until Ternus and his team are actually standing on that stage. Given how premium foldables tend to be priced elsewhere, don’t be shocked if whatever Apple’s version costs ends up sitting well above the rest of the iPhone lineup.

Either way, 10:30 PM IST tonight is when we find out how much of this was actually true.
